Hand Pulled Screen Prints
I'm Christina, a screen printer based in Edinburgh. I take my inspiration from Scotland's architecture, landmarks and coastline. Using bold colour combinations and sections of vintage maps I create limited edition hand pulled screen prints, that will brighten our surroundings on even the dullest of days!
Artist Biography
Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art I’ve worked as a graphic designer. However, too much screen time got me craving a more hands-on creative outlet. I took classes at Edinburgh Printmakers and discovered that the processes involved in creating screens prints were a perfect match for me, allowing me to combine my love for photography with my skills as a graphic designer.
The inspiration for my screen prints often comes from my photographs. I search for an unusual angle on familiar landmarks and then strip it back to its strongest components. I then screen print using bold colour combinations and sections of vintage maps which provide locality to the subjects, and tie in the area’s history.
I’ve been showing my work in shops and galleries around town for a few years now and have taken part in the last 5 Colony of Artists events.
