Paintings, Prints and Cards

Lynda’s work explores sites at the extreme edges of the land – how man inhabits these places and leaves marks there.

My work always begins on location through sketching - drawing and painting - before developing it in my studio. I have two main areas of interest.

The first is the city and the layers of time as manifested in its physical presence. I develop these ideas through artist books, painting and printmaking.

The second, and main area of interest, is the coast and how man inhabits it. How the geography, climate, natural resources and topography determine the nature of the settlements. Again, this investigation is developed through various media.

I have recently built my own studio in my garden and have the space and time to develop my work more and more.
