I am Edd Davies AKA Eddscape Creates. I’m an artist and designer based in Edinburgh & East Lothian
I am mostly a landscape artist. I love sharp lines, bright colours, rough textures, patterns and a little humour. Urban, industrial, residential and rural scenes all feature in my work. I am always on the lookout for inspiration and with my camera as my viewfinder I am constantly snapping views, skies and textures which I use in my art. I use a mixture of mediums in both my paintings and Digital work and in the last few years I have combined iPencil/iPad drawings in to my creative process.
My "MadeUp" posters series combines my landscape art with typography. Inspired by film, music and books these designs are filled with local trivia, history, pop culture references and humour. My inspirations include Pop Art, 20century advertising posters and Far Eastern art (especially calligraphy & woodblock prints).
Alongside my artwork I also design and produce my own range of merchandise.
Artist Biography
I graduated from Maidenhead Art College and then UWE Bristol achieving a BaHons in Fine Art. I've lived in Bristol, London and Edinburgh and now reside in the "Honest Toun" of Musselburgh. I went full time as an artist in 2012, building my EddscapeCreates brand.
I have exhibited extensively in Edinburgh and been featured in the Edinburgh Evening News, STV Online and Creative Collective Magazine. I have been a regular at - Colony Of Artists, Annual Exhibition / The WestEnd Craft,Art&Design Fair 3D2D / The Out Of The Blue Arts Market
I have created artwork, logos, illustrations, murals & brochures for many individuals and businesses. Previous Commissions include - S.Lucas, Colony Of Artists, The Seabird Centre, The Scottish Storytelling Centre, The Hanging Bat beer cafe; RSPB ; Alechemy Brewing ; Redbox Roasters Coffee ; & Royal High Primary School amongst others.
