I am half of Mud Station Pottery, Sylwia Kolasinska being the other (more talented, better looking) half. I am interested in Japanese cultural forms and the archaeology of the far north, and I try to express these interests in my work. I like clay bodies that fire dark and have some inherent texture to them. At the moment I am making chawans (tea bowls) with a black clay and applied slip which I hope will be tactile, visually satisfying and a pleasure to drink from.
