Karl Macrae is a contemporary, design led, mixed media embroidery artist. He works with watercolour card, appliquéing in vintage music paper, colour card, recycled envelopes as well as using gold, silver and copper leaf in his pieces. He works around the themes of architecture, portraiture and the natural world. He is based between Perth and Argyll and Bute in Scotland. He has exhibited both collectively and in solo shows, in a variety of venues including Coburg House, Leith. Out of the Blue, Leith. Dalkeith Palace, Midlothian. Greengallery, Buchlyvie and of course, Abbeyhill Colony of Artists.
