VENUE 10 - Paul Isaacs, 43 Alva Place
Colony Watercolours
Paul Isaacs has exhibited in England and Scotland. Having completed an Art Foundation course in Brighton, he then moved to Maidstone, where he did a degree in Visual Communication, specialising in Illustration. A Master’s degree in Art Therapy brought him up to Edinburgh, when he studied at Queen Margaret’s University, when it was based in Leith. He has since qualified as a child and adolescent psychotherapist and painting is an important way for me to unwind.
Paul tries to paint as much as he can in his spare time and he always takes a sketch book with him on my travels. Each year, along with his mother, he goes on a residential painting holiday and it is his mother who he thanks for passing the artistic baton down to him. He loves the architecture and the gardens in and around the Colonies, which are a major inspiration.
He has painted commissions of house portraits in London, Brighton and Edinburgh.
