VENUE 20 - Lynda Christie, 35 Regent Place

Photography

Lynda Christie’s photographs explore working structures and built materials which are plain, ordinary and functional. They are often overlooked because they are seemingly unattractive or ugly. Her work challenges this view by taking a closer look to reveal the beauty in the abstract form of these structures - their shapes, colours, lines and patterns.

She takes photographs mainly of the built environment, mundane structures and objects. Her work is influenced by the deadpan aesthetic in contemporary photography which she finds inspiring, exciting and beautiful.

Lynda recently completed a short photography course at Edinburgh College of Art.
