Mitra Ganeson is a Malaysian multidisciplinary artist based in Edinburgh, passionate about creating small, quirky and colourful crafts, just like her! Mits Makes specialises in creating zines (pronounced zeen-s). These self-published unique works are a medium of radical expression; they embrace and empower various themes including sexuality, disability and cultural heritage. She also expresses these themes through other mediums such as lino printing, risograph and clay sculptures. Expect to find zines, stickers, art prints, and sculptures at Mits Makes stall. Mits Makes has traded at various zine fairs across the UK over the past year, including the famous Edinburgh Zine Fest back in February, the Makers and Bakers Market in Edinburgh, and the Colony of Artists Fair last year. She has also organised several zine workshops, including most recently, a waterfall zine workshop with Coin Operated Press.
Mits Makes will be tabling at the upcoming Glasgow Small Press Day this August. She is also open to zine/craft commissions, as well as organising zine workshops for communal/private events.
